Museum on the Mound is located in the original 1806 Bank of Scotland Head Office building. We opened in 2006 under HBOS and now form part of Lloyds Banking Group. 

Our displays show the history of money in all its forms, along with the history of the Bank - the oldest Scottish bank founded in 1695.

Since opening we have received over 135000 visitors. As well as the public we have many schools visit us and take part in our dedicated workshops created in conjunction with Learning Teaching Scotland.

The museum is free to visit and open at least six days a week. It has also been awarded 5 Stars by Visit Scotland.
